The Nigeria government had announced 19th January 2021 as the deadline for the National Identification Number (NIN) update with their SIM cards.
Meanwhile, subscribers that had not yet registered for National Identification Number the deadline for them to link their NIN with their SIM cards will be on 9th of February.
These are some of the things you need to do know if your NIN had been successfully being linked to your SIM card.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR NIN HAD BEEN LINKED TO YOUR MTN LINE
As MTN subscriber simply dial *785#
Options will be made available to after dialling the code *785# then you type your NIN.
When you do it, a message will be sent you confirming your NIN had been received by the network provider which your NIN will be verified by National Identity Management Commission.
When you are not convinced that the NIN had been successfully submitted, you may try it again til you receive the message that says it had been successfully submitted.
HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAD LINKED NIN TO YOUR GLO LINE
The Glo Network providers will send a message that says that your NIN had been successfully received.
When you send your NIN through sms to 109, you will receive a reply from them that will say it was successful or not successful.
When you dial *109# from your Glo line, your will be asked to enter your NIN Numbers of 11 digits, after you sent it, you will receive a message the says it is Successful.
You can try this more than once if you aren’t sure your NIN had been linked to your Glo line before now.
How to know if your NIN had been linked to your 9mobile SIM
To know if you don link your NIN to your 9mobile
Just dial *200*8#.
Two options will be sent to you which will read thus: do you want to verify if your NIN had been linked to your 9Mobile SIM or you want to link it.
Then Press 1 to send and verify.
It will send you a message that says if you had linked your NIN to your SIM card.
HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR NIN HAD BEEN LINKED TO YOUR AIRTEL SIM
If you had linked your NIN number to an Airtel Sim as an Airtel Subscriber, simply dial *121*1#.
The network provider Airtel will send you a message that will read thus: send your NIN 11 digits number and they will get back to you after National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) had verified it.
When a message such as that didn’t come to your phone, you have to continue retrying it until a message that says your NIN had been submitted to be updated to your Airtel SIM.
Meanwhile, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) are the ones to do the updating and the mobile network providers will send you a message of a successful update.
