The England London side Chelsea’s first game back after the break will be a trip to newly-promoted Brentford on Saturday the 16th of October.
Ahead of the game, Chelsea Coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed already that one player will be missing, and the player is Thiago Silva, who has been called up to the Brazil national side for their games this month.
- Chelsea has the best defence in the Premier League
- Arsenal picks form after the break
- Arsenal need to improve individually and collectively
Thiago Silva will go and then he will play for Brazil, and then he will come back on the matchday versus Brentford. This is the life of international breaks in 2021. Like it or not, what can I do? If they call him, he needs to go.”
CHELSEA HAS THE BEST DEFENCE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
The London based club Chelsea has had a fine start to the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
Chelsea lost to Manchester City two weekends ago. furthermore, they would bounce back on Saturday by beating Southampton 3-1.
The Blues also have the joint-best defense in the Premier League so far this season and have scored the second-most goals.
And, with Liverpool drawing their last two matches, Chelsea has now been able to overtake the Reds atop of the Premier League and will stay there for at least the next 12 days as we are now in the international break.
Brazil’s final game of the international break takes place in the early hours of Friday the 15th of October, so it is easy to see why Silva will not be featuring vs Brentford on the 16th.
ARSENAL PICKS FORM AFTER BREAK
Arsenal would head into the September international break on a simply awful run of form.
The Gunners lost their opening three league games of the season, conceding nine goals and not scoring once.
However, as we prepare for the October break, Mikel Arteta and co. are in a much more solid position.
The north Londoners’ first game after the break saw them pick up a 1-0 win over Norwich. This was followed by a 1-0 win over Burnley and a 3-0 hammering of AFC Wimbledon in the League Cup.
Arsenal then picked up a dominant 3-1 win over rivals Tottenham in the league, before then being held to a 0-0 draw by Brighton this past weekend.
ARSENAL NEED TO IMPROVE INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY
Said run means that Arsenal is now 11th in the Premier League and just four points adrift of the top-four currently.
However, despite a big upturn in form, Mikel Arteta has sent a warning to his side.
The Spaniard stated that Arsenal needs to improve individually and collectively and also prepare well because a ‘rollercoaster’ is coming with the number of games they will need to play:
“We will analyse what we have done. The last month we have had four wins and one draw in all competitions, we conceded one goal.
“We have to improve individually and collectively and prepare well because a rollercoaster is coming with the number of games.
“I’m never happy with a point, but I don’t think we deserved anything more than that.
“We got a point because we defended really well in the last 15 or 20 metres of the pitch, and for the rest, I think it was a game that we have to improve and do better in many other areas.
