Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says he will take full responsibility of whatever loss that was incurred during the EndSARS protest violence in Lagos State.
The unrest that marred the EndSARS protests against police brutality in Lagos State Nigeria Commercial Capital city on Monday 19th day of October 2020, the chief executive governor of the state Governor Sanwo-Olu had given the police assurance that he will take all responsibility of the losses during that period.
The Governor accepted to take full responsibility of all the losses incurred during the fracas between the police and the protesters this he said as he visited the Police State Command Headquarters Ikeja.
He also assured that reform that the EndSARS protesters are clamouring for has started.
In another development, it had been released by the authorities that people that died during the EndSARS protests all around Nigeria were fifty-one (51) civilians some police officers and some soldiers.
SCHOLARSHIPS HAD BEEN AWARDED BY LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT TO CHILDREN OF POLICEMEN
Scholarships had been awarded by Lagos State government to children of policemen who lost their lives in the violence during EndSARS protest. The Lagos State Scholarship Board through the Special Adviser on Education had been directed by the Governor award the scholarship.
The governor also reiterated that the Lagos State government will set up “Rebuild Lagos Trust Fund” because of the destructions that happened in the State.
GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE GRATEFUL TO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE OFFICERS FOR THEIR DEDICATIONS TO SERVICE.
The executive Governor of Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu say that there will be compensation to all the families who lost their relatives in that are in the Nigeria Police Force during the EndSARS violence in Lagos State. He also added that burial expenses of the dead ones will be taken care of by the government, and official and personal vehicles of Police Officers will be replaced.
The Governor was grateful to the police officers especially the females for their support and full dedications to service in discharging their duties in Lagos State.
