The family says Professor Godswill Obioma died on 31st May 2021, National Examinations Council (NECO) announced on Tuesday, 1st June 2021. The 67-year-old Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO) died after a brief illness. According to officials quotes.

The NECO Human Resource Management confirmed this statement, Professor Obioma was appointed as the NECO registrar in the year 2020 to replace Professor Charles Uwakwe after he was sacked.

He also added that the succeeding government had neglected education for quite a long time that led to its setbacks.

He also highlighted those agreements were reached before the last strike was called off by the association; he also added that some of those agreements had not been met by the government.

He said that the insecurity for schools is something that government needs to tackle seriously,to protect schools in Nigeria.
